With the beginning of the new year Arthub will post a weekly “favorite”, highlighting an artist, gallery, institution, project, blog or movement, that has enlightened and inspired us in some way. As we say goodbye to 2015 we ponder elements of home, migration and transoceanic movement. In that vein, our first Arthub Favorite is the Pulang Project initiated by Mella Jaarsma.
BMW Tate Live: Performance Room
Performance Room – initiated by Tate Modern and BMW – is a series of performances commissioned and conceived using online space as its primary medium. The online audience is invited to put questions to the artist or curator for the live Q & A following the performance, using the hashtag #PerformanceRoom.

2015 Shanghai International Literary Festival
Join Arthub’s Davide Quadrio Sunday, November 8th at 5:00 pm for a conversation with Karen Smith, Gu Ling, and Li Mu on Critical Writing In-Between. The group will discuss recent publications by Li and Karen respectively: “Qiuzhuang Project, A Man, A Village, A Museum” and “As Seen 3”.
J.S. Lee Memorial Fellowship Programme
Selected Fellows will have Fellowship attachments, ranging from four to twelve months, in overseas museums. The Fellowship grant will cover round-trip airfare, accommodation and living expenses during the period of the Fellowship.
Open Call for Ferme-Asile’s Residency in Switzerland
The Ferme-Asile offers two residencies in the field of visual art for 2016 in Sion. Applications are free to submit and the residency includes housing, a studio space and a monthly stipend.
Arabian Street Artists Infiltrate ‘Homeland’ with Subversive Graffiti
In a recent episode of Showtime’s hit series ‘Homeland,’ artists Heba Amin, Caram Kapp and Stone, protested the show’s distortions of reality in the Middle East by writing subversive graffiti on the walls of a fictional Syrian refugee camp, for which they were hired to make aesthetically authentic.
