Vogue Italia Interview Arthub’s Davide Quadrio
Arthub aims to facilitate and provide opportunities for a dialogue between the West and East. Director and Founder, Davide Quadrio, has been working towards this goal for the past twenty years while residing in Asia.
Excerpt from Davide’s recent interview with Vogue Italia:
China is rediscovering the uniqueness and the importance of its own heritage also in an international context: the attention to the contemporary silk road as a crossing point and as understanding between West and East is very close to the Chinese institutions also, clearly, for political and economic reasons.
In an exclusive interview with Vogue Davide expands upon his recent collaborations with the Aurora Museum in Shanghai — building their collection for a new contemporary wing — as well as working in non-traditional art spaces such as Value Retail Villages. Davide explains that visiting a museum, a gallery, an art foundation or collective is a choice, but stumbling upon artwork in Fidenza Village or Suzhou Village is unintentional.
Working on projects such as A Thousand Silk Threads in Yi Ou Lai Suzhou Village allows Davide to reach out to new audiences. Art is given an opportunity to expand beyond the rigid white walls of a gallery.
