Arthub is delightful to announce a screening event and a panel talk of artist Tao Hui, whose videos are being screened on our online screening program, with contributing editor of frieze magazine Alvin Li.

Artist Tao Hui has always regarded TV as a inspiring media. His video artworks often inspired by lowbrow productions like TV drama, and reality shows. The film “The Excessive” (2015) was a differnt trial on narrative structure and imagery aesthetics. By using black and white image, in-studio shooting, and voice over, Tao Hui presented an absurd TV drama themed on family affairs and ethical struggles. After the screening, Arthub invite Alvin to talk about the relationship between his art practice and popular media, and his recent working.
