Arthub Favorite: Week Thirteen

This past Saturday Three Shadows Art Center announced the finalists for the gallery’s annual Photography Awards. For Best of the Week, Arthub presents the exhibition Immeasurable, featuring the 25 finalists from the 8th edition of the awards.

Duration: April 9th – June 3rd, 2016
Venue: Caochangdi 155 A, Chaoyang District, Beijing

After intense deliberation by the selection committee, 25 artists have been selected out of the 471 candidates to participate in the Eighth Three Shadows Photography Award (TSPA) exhibition.

The finalists for the 2016 Awards in alphabetical order are: Chen Wenjun & Jiang Yanmei, Dong Yuxiang, Gao Lei, Gao Yutao, Guo Yilin, Huang Yang, Huang Zhenqiang (Dennis Wong), Huang Zhenwei, Jiang Sheng, Leong Chonglao, Lin Boyan & Huang Chengcong, Liu Shuwei, Luo Zhizhong, Pu Yun, Qian Ruya, Wang Jiping, Wang Lei, Wang Yan, Xin Hong’an, Yang Wenbin,Ying Chaoxu, Zeng Rui, Zhi Leiying, Zhu Liyue.

The International Jury for this year’s awards includes: Quentin Bajac, Chief Curator of Photography Department, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA); Wu Hung, Harrie A. Vanderstappen Distinguished Service Professor and Director of Center for the Art of East Asia, the University of Chicago; Satoshi Machiguchi, Director and Designer of MATCH and Company; Rong Rong, Founder and Director of Three Shadows Photography Art Centre; Philip Tinari, Director of the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA).

The 2016 iteration encompasses the Three Shadows Photography Award (which includes a place in the Immeasurable group show) and the Shiseido Photographer Prize. The final results of the competition were announced at the opening ceremony, which took place on April 9th at 3:00 pm.
