Collaboration with Sponge Art Contemporary in Italy

Frontone Castle Open to Contemporary Art

Arthub Asia welcomes Sponge Art Contemporary’s initiatives because we believe in the power of young initiatives at the borders of socio-cultural systems. After the presentation of Le Petit Poucet, Arthub Asia will support this initiative in a Middle Age castle in the heart of Italy.

It is a pathway for young contemporary art, ideated and directed by Sponge Art Contemporary in occasion of the Poiesis Fratelli festival in Fabriano, Italy. Le Petit Poucet arised out of the necessity to render contemporary art fruition more democratic.

With this title, Le Petit Poucet–Pollicino, drawn from the famous fairytale by Charles Perrault, Sponge Art Contemporary wants to highlight the relevance of spreading ‘crumbs,’ behind each crumb lies an artist. Ideally, each crumb links to the question drawn from the Genesis: Where is your brother? To testify a will to searching the other. From that, a journey starts towards the discovery of art in the historic center of Fabriano, split in three thematic patterns: video, paper and photography.

Davide Quadrio, curator of the video section will present, for the first time in Italy, the Indonesian collective Ruangrupa. The paper section, prepared by Stefano Verri, is composed of the following artists: Daniele Bordoni, Max Bottino, Mirko Canesi, Giovanni Gaggia, Andrea Guerzoni, Renzo Marasca, Michele Pierpaoli, Serena Piccinini, Beatrice Pucci. The photography section, looked after by Francesco Sala, is composed of the following artists: Bianc Onirico, Domenico Buzzetti, Daniela Cavallo, Federico Forlani, Claudia Gambadoro, Daniele Italia, Sabrina Muzi, Mona Lisa Tina, Rita Vitali Rosati.
