Arthub Commission: Music for Listening on the Moon by Yan Jun!

Arthub Asia is the proud commissioner of Music for Listening on the Moon by Yan Jun (released by Kwanyin Records), which launched at the Moon Life Concept Store, on the auspicious day of Guanyin, on 12.12, 2010, accompanied by presentations of artists and practitioners including Tao Sambolec, DUS Architects, Buddhist Studies scholar Francesca Tarocco and Arthub Asia director Defne Ayas.

Working in the field of sound and language, Yan Jun is known to move effortlessly from poetry and  installations to performance and recording music, which runs the gamut  from chance improvisation to subtle conceptual environment sound/music. Music for Listening on the Moon is specially composed for the occasion of Moon Life and printed under Yan Jun’s own record label Sub Jam/KwanYin. It is based on sounds from every day life; the concept is to listen without searching for meaning.
