“Girlfriend in a Coma” is a documentary created with the aim of building awareness, both in Italy as well as in other countries, of the Italian political, social and economic situation in the past 20 years. In Italy, about 10,000 people have viewed the film so far. The “Girlfriend in a Coma” team has organized numerous screenings in varying locations, including schools, universities and local communities.
In this wake up call campaign focused on opening the public’s eyes to the Italian moral collapse, the documentary has also been shown in cities like London, New York, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Miami, Oxford, Manchester, Paris and Brussels, amongst others. At the beginning of March 2013, “Girlfriend in a Coma” was also featured on Italy’s La7 television network in its first free-to-air broadcast, reaching an audience of more than 700,000 people.
Now, “Girlfriend in a Coma” will be screened in China, both in Beijing and Shanghai. As the creators of “Girlfriend in a Coma” suggest, “The best way to see GIAC is on a big screen and with other people to discuss it afterward.” Which is why we hope you can join us for the Chinese screenings, in either city.
