An Exhibition by Young Artists from Hangzhou

Participating artists: Cui Shaohan, Sun Huiyuan, Zhang Lehua, Wu Juehui, Zhong Su, Zou Chen, Wang Xiaofeng

This exhibition of artists from Hangzhou was organized by BizArt Art Center. N524 is a number of a train from Hangzhou to Shanghai.

The artworks mainly consisted in videos and installations. The video Tofu shows the reaction of onlookers watching and surrounding two persons pretending to be arguing. The author of Our busy and exciting life acted as a censor and cut all the erotic parts of a porn film. In the artwork 2007.1.6 0:00, the artist wanders without aim in the middle of the night, shooting in the dark what is around him, the objects only appear to us under the flash of the camera…

Objects from our quotidian, like Chair or Bed - Up, were modified into interactive works, as if brough into life. The last is composed of a bed which rotates as you lie on it.

These young artists from the New Media Art Department of the China Art Academy all pointed out their different opinions, valuing their individuality and lauding their own personality.
