Rethinking HOME is an exhibition with new insights into both modern-day Dutch and Indonesian societies. The show aims to address this intercontinental relationship from the perspectives of a select group of visual artists and through the exploration of their personal connections with each other’s countries. What do we find when we search for these connections? This central question is expressed in the title of the show: Rethinking HOME.
Nieuw Dakota is a platform for contemporary art on the IJ in Amsterdam North. The gallery organizes exhibitions and projects in collaboration with collectors, galleries, institutions and other players in the international art world. Nieuw Dakota seeks a wider audience involved in the art world, with the aim to increase private participation in contemporary art.
